Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is DDSP?
Digital Data Safety Platform (DDSP) is a cloud-based digital application platform in which safety, inspections, certificates, documents, notifications, and services come together in one system. It is intended to bring everything that is often spread across different parties together in one clear place.
2. Who is DDSP intended for?
DDSP is intended for citizens, households, businesses, inspectors, auditors, service providers, insurers, and government entities. A citizen can see, among other things, their profile, registered objects, documents, certificates, inspections, notifications, reports, payments, complaints, and reminders.
3. Does DDSP replace ministries or existing government authorities?
No. DDSP does not replace ministries, inspection services, or regulators. It is intended to help connect existing processes better and make them digitally transparent.
4. What problem does DDSP solve in practice?
DDSP helps address scattered documents, duplicate registrations, forgotten inspections, fragmented information, and unclear follow-up. It makes processes more structured and easier to control.
5. Which categories does DDSP cater?
The 8 categories are: Fire Safety, Food Safety & Hygiene, Electrical Safety, Technical Systems Inspection, Water Quality & Inspection, Health & Public Safety, Building & Facility Compliance, and Environment & Waste Compliance.
6. Has DDSP been officially chosen by Dubai Government?
No. But looking at Dubai’s recent digital direction, DDSP strongly aligns with it, which makes Dubai a potential market initially moving to wider UAE and then further expansion into the GCC.
7. How does one register with DDSP?
A user creates an account, it is checked and verified, and then gets access to a personal or business category within the platform.
8. Can DDSP make use of UAE PASS?
Yes. You can also use your UAE PASS as a Single Sign-on (SSO).
9. Will I receive reminders when something is about to expire?
Yes. DDSP can show automatic reminders for scheduled inspections, maintenance, document renewals, and certificate expiry.
10. Can I request an inspection through DDSP? Who carries it out?
Yes. Users can submit requests through the platform. Inspections are carried out by authorized inspectors or certified service providers, not by DDSP itself. After the inspection, findings, photos, and reports are stored digitally in the file.
11. Can I also request reports through DDSP?
Yes. DDSP supports report requests and verifications, for example for vehicles, objects, machines, or companies.
12. How do I know whether a certificate is real?
Within DDSP, documents are only recognized as valid if they have been created, submitted, and validated through the platform by authorized and accredited parties.
13. Can separate scans or separate PDFs simply be used as official documents?
No. The business plan specifically states that scanned PDFs or manual uploads outside the official DDSP chain are not recognized as legally valid certificates.
14. How can a certificate be verified?
Within DDSP, a certificate can be linked to a verification link or QR code, a digital or cryptographic signature, a timestamp, and audit logs.
15. What is SOS within DDSP?
SOS is an emergency and incident function through which relevant information (location, emergency contacts, limited medical info) can be quickly shared with authorized parties during an emergency.
16. Is SOS only an emergency button?
No. It is a complete emergency channel with activation, location tracking, an emergency profile, contact alerts, and incident logging.
17. What can SOS generally do?
SOS can register an emergency signal, share location, alert emergency contacts, make a limited medical profile available, and digitally record the incident.
18. Is my entire medical file then shared?
No. Only a limited and relevant medical snapshot is shared for emergency assistance, not the full medical file.
19. Is information in DDSP visible to everyone?
No. DDSP works with role-based access. Users only see the information that functionally belongs to their specific role.
20. Can I store documents through DDSP?
Yes. DDSP includes document management for certificates, inspection reports, contracts, supporting documents, and other relevant files.
